StitchnSew Non-Woven Wash-Away Water Soluble Non-Woven Sew-In Topping is a really helpful tool when it comes to working with delicate and sheer fabrics, thick pile embroidery and standalone design work. Using the topping as a stabilizer for delicate or slippery fabrics, such as chiffon or taffeta, makes them easier to cut, stitch and hold in place. Standalone work may include cut or digitized lace which benefit from the stabilizer being used solely as a base to create.

Stabilizing open weave fabrics such as netting, tulle and burlap prior to embroidering helps prevent the fabric from getting caught and puckering. It is also useful for embroidering thick pile towels, robes and hand cloths where stitches can be left buried deep in the fabric. In these instances, the stabilizer is a temporary work solution that will not become permanently imbedded in the project as it will eventually wash away.
